Project details

Rest by the Ba Lai River

Owning more than four acres of luxuriant land with fruit trees and fertile alluvium, right next to Ba Lai River in Ben Tre province, also the land of incense, where the graves of ancestors are located, the investor wants to renovate. to turn this place into a place both for children and grandchildren to gather on the weekend, as well as a place of worship and resting place of deceased ancestors. The above requirements were set with the company and the project was completed at the end of 2021.

With a total land area of 4,273m2, the items are set out including wooden church, grave house, bulgalow area for family rest, housekeeper's living area, security guard, ecological swimming pool, vegetable garden and so on. fruit trees. The listings seem many, but when placed in a green whole of the campus as well as the surrounding landscape, everything is in harmony and the main blocks are like a vivid break between the green nature and the river. Ba Lai is rich in alluvial color.

The first impression is that the bulgalow area has a two-story construction scale with four concrete arches reaching 8.9m high, opening a view of the windy Ba Lai river. The ground floor is well ventilated with a common kitchen, changing room, toilet for the swimming pool area, water technical area. The entire living and sleeping space is brought up to the 2nd floor with three different bedrooms, each with its own toilet and open view of the river, the rooms are connected to each other through a corridor, a common living space with pantry layout. Polished concrete floors, ceilings using bamboo coffe and no paint to keep the color of the concrete and the grain of the coffa.

Because it is a weekend resort, the furniture is equipped on practicality, not too ostentatious, but just needs to meet all resting needs. Indeed, with a green and windy space like this weekend resort, going outside to enjoy nature is still the most worthwhile option. Notably, the eco-pool system right in front of the bulgalow area is known as the first eco-pool model in Vietnam. The lake uses trees to clean water, raise fish naturally to avoid mosquitoes and create food for plants... it's all an ecosystem, the water is not as clear as a regular swimming pool, but it feels very natural and cool. , like a river bath.

The tomb area is where the tombs of ancestors were available before, the design remains the same, only the roof is organized to increase the dignified look, greening the roof, creating a path between the two rows. graves, planting many trees and small gardens... all create a shady area, a feeling of coolness, closeness and ease of communication between contemporary descendants and deceased ancestors. Talking about trees, right from the beginning of the design and during the construction process, both the investor and the design unit agree on the spirit of keeping the maximum available coconut trees in the garden, especially the longan tree. over 50 years old right in the front yard, the outside of the wooden church is specially cherished, as a memory that needs to be kept because it was planted from the hands of the ancestors.

The wooden church area has a construction area of 586m2, including two floors: the ground floor and the attic. The main structure is wood, tiled roof and wooden furniture. Initially, the investor aimed to use coconut wood, which is a typical and popular tree in the locality, but due to limitations in quality and quantity, it switched to the option of using pine wood, the entire structure The wood and wooden floor here are all natural pine and harvested from planted forests, without affecting the environment. The construction of this project is also human resources from the local, this is an option that both exploits the skills of local workers and creates an opportunity for them to approach a different construction style from traditional works in Vietnam. This. Indeed, the combination of pine wood structure - raw concrete structure, raw cement finishing... is a rather strange way of doing things with the locality. In terms of layout, the most solemn space is devoted to the worship of grandparents with an area of 46m2. But besides that, the design also focuses on functional areas for family activities and guests to attend the anniversary. The patio space arranges a dining table for guests in gatherings, two different living rooms each with an area of 31m2, a shared kitchen in the 26m2 large worship area, the rest are other auxiliary spaces such as a warehouse. , toilet block ....

Combining many functional areas in one campus: the grave house, the space to worship the ancestors who have disappeared and the living place of contemporary descendants... the most important thing is to create a balance. elements of yin - yang, while maintaining a dignified dignified silence for the resting place of the deceased and ensuring the living needs of the living...

Everything is just enough to be impressive, just enough to be harmonious, gracefully nestled next to the gentle Ba Lai river and the green area of Ben Tre's garden.
